Performs supportive clerical and a number of repetitious accounting duties that support the office and institution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable: Account for the DSCC Visa Credit Cards which involves verifying charges for compliance with DSCC and TBR regulations, checking for supporting documentation (invoices, receipts, etc.), notifying cardholder of problems, approving the credit card journal voucher entries, entering the credit card cash disbursement entry, extracting and comparing entries daily to assist the Financial Services Coordinator, assisting with the reconciliation of the Credit Card Payable account. Assist in opening the mail and date stamping; data entry of payables; verify receipts in Jaggaer for invoices with purchase orders and verify that Accounts Payable ACH Authorization information is correctly entered into the database.

Financial Services Coordinator: Assist with reconciling, closing and reversing entries and other applicable financial documents to help with financial statement preparation; assist as directed with the review, process and maintaining all travel authorization, encumbrances and claims; assist with AP bank drafts and keep up with the utility usage spreadsheet for all locations and help with keying journal vouchers and uploading them to BDMS.

Payroll Manager: Assist with scanning, filing, shredding and loading journal vouchers and other documents into BDMS; train to serve as a back-up payroll reviewer.

Comptroller: Assist with scanning, filing, shredding and loading journal vouchers and other documents into BDMS

Keep current on policies and procedures.

Receive and respond to related mail, phone calls and other inquiries timely and positively. Maintain physical and/or electronic documentation according to policy.

Assist with reconciling accounts; post, balance and code data; prepare related records, logs and reports.

Maintain and order supplies for the Business Financial Services office. Other duties as assigned by the Business Financial Services Coordinator.

Working Conditions:

Sedentary: Desk work; occasional travel may be required for college or program activities. Insignificant physical effort other than normal movement. Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office settings. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, including on-line computer systems. Strong computer skills required in Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply DSCC policies and procedures. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently and handle a variety of complicated assignments simultaneously.    Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Minimum Requirements of Education and Experience:

High school diploma or educational equivalent required - Associates Degree in a related field is preferred. At least two years general office experience with data entry background and computer skills. Familiarity with accounting principles required. Experience in a higher education setting preferred.

Minimum starting pay is $28,400 annually ($14.57 per hour). With additional experience pay increases to a maximum of $34,100.
