Position Information

Hiring Department: Housing & Residence Life

Posting End Date: Open until filled.

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends

FLSA status: Exempt

Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.

Salary: $36,852 Annually

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.



Purpose of Position

Essential Functions

Occupancy Management
  • Assist resident students with completing the housing contract as necessary.
  • Provide support to students as they navigate the housing application and housing self-selection process.
  • Ensure students living on campus are registered for classes on a regular basis.
  • Provide weekly occupancy reports to the Executive Director of Housing and Residence Life.
  • Collect “no-show” data from the coordinator staff to ensure an accurate account of occupancy on campus.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of Orange and Blue Day, Operation College Bound, New Student Orientation, and additional university recruitment efforts as they arise.
  • Coordinate the Contracts Appeal Committee.
  • Manage the collection and return of all housing deposits.
  • Post appropriate cancellation fees to the student housing account.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of check-in and check-out processes at the beginning and end of each semester.

Camps, Conferences, and Guest Housing
  • Provide guidance and support to overnight guests when completing applications and contracts.
  • Maintain communication with guests regarding their stay. (Check-in, check-out, resources while they are on campus)
  • Collaborate with the Finance and Administration staff to provide appropriate billing information for guests.
  • Meet the needs of customers renting meeting space in the department. Ensure proper room set-up and break-down for each scheduled usage.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Housing Facilities to ensure all spaces are appropriately cleaned and turned at the end of each stay and meeting space use.
  • Manage linen inventory with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the required number of items are on hand for anticipated guests.
  • Develop and implement satisfaction surveys for camp, conference, and guests staying overnight on campus.
  • Supervise approximately 6 Summer Conference Assistants during the summer timeframe.

Campus Partnerships
  • Collaborate with Parking and Transportation to ensure the needs of the department, students, and guests are met regarding parking.
  • Manage the collection and distribution of new Miner Gold Cards as a part of the New Student Move-in process.
  • Assist with the arrival and check-in of all new scholarship residents. ie: Terry Scholars, Texas Leadership, etc.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university within the area of assigned responsibility

and

Experience: Two years related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
