Position Description

The Case Manager in Office of Academic Integrity and Student Conduct (OAISC) will report to the Assistant Dean and Secretary of the Administrative Board and will evaluate student petitions and prepare and manage student conduct cases to be heard by the Administrative Board of Harvard College. This includes intake, investigation, policy review, documentation, and record maintenance for complex disciplinary cases involving highly sensitive student information. The Case Manager serves as a resource for students, faculty, and administrators to answer questions about the Administrative Board process and disciplinary procedures. The Case Manager will also assist in reviewing policies, updating the Student Handbook, the Administrative Board Manual, and analyzing data for the Annual Report.

  • Collects case information for alleged violations of student conduct policies and prepares case dockets for review by Resident Deans and other members of the Administrative Board.
  • Communicates with students, Resident Deans, House staff, OGC, ODR, Title IX Office, HUPD, external law enforcement, parents, and other constituents regarding petitions and disciplinary matters. This often includes confidential case information and providing students with redacted copies of the materials used by the Ad Board in resolving their case.
  • Works with the Secretary of the Administrative Board to examine, review, and prepare the board materials each week and staffs Ad Board meetings as a non-voting member to provide consultation and support.
  • Participates in reviewing policies, updating the Student Handbook, the Administrative Board Manual, and analyzing statistics for the Annual Report.
  • Updates OAISC related communications for the Ad Board and Houses and updates Ad Board sections of the website.
  • Serves as backup Case Manager to the Honor Council team if Honor Council Case Managers are unavailable.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience

Additional Qualifications and Skills

Experience working in higher education with knowledge of administration, academics, and student life. A Master’s degree is preferred. Must be proficient in utilizing software programs (including but not limited to: Maxient, Microsoft applications, Peoplesoft). This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, discretion, and careful judgment in dealing with sensitive conversations and issues. This job requires the ability to pay close attention to academic and textual details and to manage information systems to keep track of complex cases and documents.

  • This position is based in Cambridge, MA, with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.

Work Format Details

This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
