8:00 am – 5:00 pm; (Monday – Friday).Hours of work may vary dependent upon situational factors, emergencies, and crisis management requiring evening(s), weekend(s), and holiday(s) response.



Job Summary

Reporting to the Director for Sustainability & Facilities Services, the Communications and Strategic Engagement Director Assistant leads the transformation and ongoing execution of facilities management communications, marketing, and strategic initiatives at the direction of the Chief Facilities Officer; Develops and implements best inter-connective practices to ensure cohesive and effective communications and marketing strategies across all departments; Collaborates and supports department teams to develop a new vision and strategy to integrate operational technologies, applications, and information management; Utilizes business analytics and data driven metrics to support facilities operations running as seamlessly as possible and delivering better outcomes.

In addition, this position leads, manages, and oversees all facilities management communications and marketing initiatives (both internal and external) as well as brand management at the direction of the Chief Facilities Officer; Collaborates directly with the University of Kentucky Office of Public Relations and Marketing to ensure facilities management communications, social media accounts, publications, and web presence adhere to all University standards and University brand management; and Continuously evaluates and improves facilities communications and marketing efforts, including active social media accounts and web presence.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

MS Windows/Office; Presentation Software; SAP; CAD; Adobe Illustrator

Driver’s License — Preferred

Demonstrated experience in strategizing and integrating technology; Establishing effective and efficient working processes and procedures; Supporting and influencing people from all backgrounds; Developing constructive relationships with clients; Ensuring business continuity in an interconnected team environment; and Delivering decisions with a continuous improvement mindset.

Extensive knowledge of Business Administration; Safety and Environmental Compliance; Facilities Management; and Higher Education — Preferred.

Frequently applies knowledge to practical issues and problems.
