Job Summary

West Kentucky Community & Technical College (WKCTC), recognized as a top 10 community college in the nation by The Aspen Institute five consecutive times and three times as a Finalist with Distinction, invites applications for the position of Computer & Information Technologies Instructor. WKCTC is a comprehensive community college that provides excellence in teaching a learning, promotes student success, and supports economic development.

Job Duties:

A CIT instructor is responsible for teaching a variety of CIT lecture/lab courses in a combination of face-to-face, online, and hybrid modalities.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, faculty workload includes: student advising; service on a variety of committees; community service; professional development, and various departmental activities that may include course development and evaluation, mentoring adjunct faculty, and student outcome assessment.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of an Associate degree in a CIT-related field with 3+ years of industry experience or industry certifications, or Bachelor’s degree in a CIT-related field with experience and/or certifications
• Willingness to pursue additional degree(s) and/or industry certifications as needed, and
• Willingness to work collaboratively on the development of quality course materials, and
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and the services provided by community colleges

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s and master’s degree in a CIT-related field
• 5+ years in industry experience
• Industry certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Security+, Net+, Cisco CCNA or Microsoft networking
• 3+ years of experience in adult education
