Physical Requirements

This position will require sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; regularly performing repetitive motion (such as typing); occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50lbs; occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 25lbs; occasional exposure to cuts/punctures and risk of back injury from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and occasional (<10% of the time) job related travel.



Shift

Shift will vary. The schedule will be discussed at the time of the interview. Some weekends and evenings may be required. This is a remote position.



Job Summary

| The Data Integrity/Identity Specialist maintains the integrity of the Master Patient Index (MPI) via medical record number corrections, deletions, updates, merges and additions; reviews all registration input, makes corrections and notifies proper departments as needed; resolves master patient index overlays, resolution of potential duplicate medical records and any other chart corrections as applicable. Process interface errors. Performs contact moves as necessary. In addition, the Data Integrity/Identity Specialist is responsible for coordinating and communicating with members of the clinical staff, revenue management, and information technology departments and others as needed to facilitate chart corrections. This is a remote work position.

Microsoft Office Products, Epic EHR, knowledge of medical terminology

Preferred Education/Experience

Associate Degree in business/computer science/health information technology or health informatics preferred. Experience in medical records department of 2 years or more preferred.
