Department of Anthropology: Professor, Sociocultural Anthropology - Selina Okin Kim Conner Chair in Medical Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology, Washington University in St. Louis, invites applications for a tenured appointment in anthropology at the level of full Professor to begin in the Fall semester of 2025.

We seek an exceptional researcher and engaged scholar, working domestically or internationally, to complement a department with a record of excellence in medical anthropology, global health, and related areas. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate how their research program engages questions of contemporary importance as well as how their work has real-world implications.

Qualifications

The successful candidate is expected to work with graduate students in developing research projects and to have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. Duties will include teaching courses, conducting research, writing for publication, advising students, participating in department governance, and university service. Applicants must have demonstrated excellence in ethnographic research, as well as a strong track record in attracting external research funds.
