Department of Political Science: Assistant Professor of Political Science in the field of Political Theory
The Department of Political Science at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in political theory at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in the fall semester of 2025. We are a small theory group that works closely with our empirically oriented colleagues: we are thus especially interested in scholars whose research speaks to pressing political problems, including but not limited to racial and gender-based justice, environmental justice, global justice, democratic erosion, populism, protest, and the political and ethical challenges posed by AI and other emerging technologies. Duties will include teaching assigned courses, conducting research, writing for publication, advising students, participating in department and program governance, and university service. Diversity and Inclusion are core values at Washington University, and we seek to create inclusive classrooms and environments in which a diverse array of students can learn and thrive.
QualificationsA Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment.
