The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) University Advancement (UA) is seeking a Director of Development for College of Engineering. The Director of Development (DOD) will secure private support for funding priorities within the College in consultation and collaboration with the AVP and the Dean. The position will actively manage a defined portfolio of major gift prospects and donors by guiding their cultivation, solicitation and stewardship while also growing the base of major gift support through establishment of new relationships. The director will build strong and mutually beneficial relationships between donors, friends, alumni, businesses and the community with academic leadership, faculty, and staff.  The director is responsible for developing a comprehensive fundraising plan to support the college/school/area funding priorities with a primary focus on gift solicitation at the major gift level of $10,000 and above. The Director of Development (DOD) is a high-level development professional with knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, substantial fundraising experience.  The DOD reports to the EDOD or AVP and indirectly to the dean or administrator of the college, school, unit, or program.  The DOD is jointly evaluated by the EDOD or AVP and the appropriate administrator. Additionally, University Advancement may hire a DOD that is only a direct report to the EDOD or AVP for specific projects or programs.
