Full Time

Under the general supervision of the Registrar, the System Analyst II, provides support to the Office of the Registrar through system support for Banner, Navigate360, Degree Works, Parchment, Curriculog, Acalog and various other software systems. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining academic programs and course revisions, mapping pathway templates and curriculum information including ensuring accuracy in print and electronic materials; creating and updating reports for the office, maintaining documentation on policy and procedures, testing, implementing and updating systems in conjunction with IT.  

Works directly with the Associate Registrar, Registrar and in collaboration with the Information Technology Division and Advising Center to ensure accuracy of student data elements used in the management of student records.

  • Functional lead user of DegreeWorks who understands how components of the system interoperate and impact output and audit results including, but not limited to: building and maintaining DegreeWorks programs, courses and templates using Scribe; Controller; Batch updates; and coordination of software upgrade testing activities for the Degree Works system in collaboration with the Associate Registrar, Registrar and IT. 
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining EAB Navigate360 curriculum and Academic Plans Templates. 
  • Works in collaboration with IT, Associate Registrar & Registrar in all areas related to student information system configuration and testing; troubleshoots problems and acts as a point of contact for the Student Records office on numerous software. Serves as system support for the Banner, Navigate360, Degree Works, Parchment and other systems as assigned. Creates test plans and tests enhancements, maintain and create documentation; new technology initiatives and functionality, and/or system upgrades to administrative systems in collaboration with IT.
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and revising official college curriculum in DegreeWorks, Navigate360, Banner, Acalog and other platforms as needed.
  • Contributes to the design and streamlining of information systems and business solutions to support Student Records by documenting business practices, procedures and testing implementation enhancements on new functionality. As well as, continually assessing the office functions in collaboration with Associate Registrar/Registrar to identify strategic initiative and measurable outcomes.
  • Identifies, researches and resolves programming, data, or system software problems, frequently on an individual basis in consultation with other staff members and/or users.
  • Estimates time and effort for development tasks and coordinates with the Associate Registrar/Registrar for incorporating estimates into project schedules. Responsible for working directly with the Associate Registrar/Registrar to create and maintain the project management system within Student Records.
  • Works collaboratively with stakeholders to define data needs and to design reports and automation of processes for the Student Records office.Maintains and updates departmental queries and reports.
  • Has functional knowledge and experience as well as the understanding of the systems, processes, and data flows for the functional areas within Banner, DegreeWork, Navigate and other relevant systems.
  • Responds to end-user questions, issues related to Navigate360, Degree Works and other related software related to Student Records.
  • Presents training sessions on Navigate360 and Degree Works, as required.
  • Opens, monitors and manages support cases with Ellucian, EAB and Parchment as needed.
  • Reports on work accomplishments and identifies system issues in a logical, clear, and thorough manner.
  • Responsible for reviewing graduates, maintaining graduation waivers, and Commencement related activities. Assists with office administrative tasks, including but not limited to; front counter coverage, transcripts requests, customer service, tabling events and other related office tasks and projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

  • Applicants must have at least three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in electronic data processing, of which at least one year must have been in work in which the major duties included computer systems analysis, or any equivalent combination of the required experience or substitutions;
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL;
  • Ability to create and update reports using Crystal or related software;
  • Expert Excel / Google Sheets experience;
  • Must be detailed oriented; 
  • Skilled in effective business and interpersonal communication;
  • Skilled in end user support;
  • Ability to function effectively in a changing and often busy environment;
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to interact and collaborate with a variety of constituencies including staff, faculty, and students;
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team;
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment.

PREFERRED:  
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Experience with Banner SIS, Degree Works including Scribe, Controller, Transit, Crystal Enterprise, Parchment, ImageSilo, and Navigate360;
  • Experience working in a Registrar’s office or higher education.

Full-time, AFSCME unit position

Bi-Weekly salary: $2,674.67.  Grade 21, plus a comprehensive State benefits package.

Hours:  37.5 hours/week
