The Processing Clerk is responsible for general and technical clerical computer duties and processing related to enrollment services (admissions and financial aid).

Essential Functions

  1. Understand and effectively communicate enrollment services processes, forms, and required documentation.
  2. Process incoming documents related to enrollment services
    1. Admissions applications, immunizations, test scores, high school, etc.
    2. Financial Aid verification documentation, scholarship applications, summer aid requests, etc. 
  3. Contact individuals or agencies to solve issues related to documents.
  4. Send correspondence as required.
  5. Coordinate scanning, indexing, and disposal of received documents
  6. Review applicants for necessity of placement
  7. Admit students to the college after receipt of required documentation.
  1. Maintain an ongoing understanding of the federal, state, and institutional regulations regarding enrollment services
  2. Efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and student information system accurately and effectively.
  3. Manage incoming mail

Supplemental Functions

  1. Work with college personnel with various questions and problems.
  2. Provide good customer service to students, college employees, and the community served by the College.
  3. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

  2. Ability to use sound judgment in working with people and in decision-making.

Education, Training and Experience Required

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. One (1) year college.
  3. Minimum 2 years general clerical and/or data entry.

  1. Must demonstrate the ability to work without direct supervision.
  2. Must demonstrate the ability to relate to a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
  3. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  4. Must demonstrate the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  5. Must demonstrate the ability to use PC software applications, including word processing.
  6. Must demonstrate the ability to give attention to details for accuracy and have superb organizational skills.
  7. Must demonstrate the ability to use sound judgment in working with people and in decision-making.
  8. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.

Working Conditions

  1. Must be able to sit long periods of time using a computer.
  2. Occasionally required to lift, bend, and stoop.
  1. Normal sitting and movement in an office environment.
  2. Overtime and flexible work hours may be required.
  3. Travel to campuses and schools in the nine-county serve area and to other locations for meetings and other job-related activities may be required

Hiring Salary Range:  $32,000- $38,400

This position is based at the Columbia, TN Campus.
