High school diploma.



Required Related Experience

Able to use a stereomicroscope also known as a dissecting scope, be comfortable touching dead insect specimens, familiarity with plant maintenance, must possess a driver’s license and be comfortable with driving a university-owned pickup truck.

Physical Requirements

Be able to lift objects weighing approximately 20 lbs.



Shift

Weekdays (8 AM – 5 PM).



Job Summary

Assist graduate students with field-based entomology research, sort arthropods collected from field samples, enter data into excel, water research plants in greenhouse, general plant care for research trees and shrubs located at various locations within Lexington and UK North Farm.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Interest in Entomology, familiarity with microscope usage, and ability to use excel.

Preferred Education/Experience

Coursework in Entomology or Ecology, experience working in a lab-based setting, familiarity with Microsoft office products. Entomology, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Wildlife Biology, or a related major preferred.
