Summary

Recruits prospective graduate students to Bowling Green State University. Builds relationships with prospects and applicants to meet institution and program level goals. Use a data review approach to determine recruitment and outreach activities for various prospective graduate student populations. Travels to recruitment events promoting BGSU graduate programs. Conducts large and small group presentations and personal interviews with prospective students. Manages communication/interactions with students using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Supports graduate student onboarding initiatives such as Graduate Student Orientation and other campus programming.

Essential Functions

• Counsel prospective graduate students regarding degree offerings and the admissions process; Makes phone calls, initiates and replies to emails, engages in social media and uses Office CRM

• Reads and understands prospect and applicant data to drive recruitment decisions and initiatives; assists with marketing and communication efforts

• Plan and attend graduate recruitment events such as open houses, webinars, career and graduate college fairs, campus visit opportunities, and program-specific outreach events

• Conducts group presentations

• Supports graduate student onboarding initiatives such as Graduate Student Orientation and other campus programming.

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

The following Degree is required:

• Bachelor's Degree. Degree must be conferred at time of application

The following Experience is required:

• 2 years of higher education experience required

The following Experience is preferred:

• Recruitment experience

The following License is required:

• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and comply with the university's vehicle use policy.

Additional Information

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Experience should include a minimum of two years experience in a higher education environment, preferably in a recruiting role

• Knowledge of graduate education admission recruitment practices and understands the requirements for admissions to Graduate Programs

• Excellent verbal and written communication;

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the college.

• Ability to create and sustain effective working relationships with faculty and staff across a variety of academic disciplines.

• Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one-time meeting assigned deadlines

• Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, organization, time management, project management, and presentation skills

• Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Slate CRM, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office suite or similar products)

• Ability to travel locally, regionally, and occasionally nationally for recruitment events and meetings.
