Job Description

Description Summary

Work with the club’s captains/officers to create cheers and choreograph routines for both basketball games and cheer competitions. 

Supervise and teach skills necessary to perform cheerleading stunts.

Dates:  Sept. 16, 2024 – December 10, 2024Hours: 3 two-hour practices/week

Jan. 15 – May 2, 2025.Supervise club performance at home athletic events – basketball games and cheer competitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise/coach three two hours practice sessions each week.
  • Supervise the squad at each home athletic event (basketball) at which they are cheering.
  • Supervise the squad at cheer competitions.
  • Develop practice plans, including the proper progression for teaching stunting skills.
  • Lead/develop strength and condition plans for the squad.
  • Stress safety and teach proper spotting techniques to club members.
  • Assist captains/officers in creating new cheers and choreographing new routines.
  • Assist the club to purchase all equipment necessary for safety purposes.
  • Gain and maintain a current coaching certification offered by USA Cheer.

General Requirements

  • Demonstrated at least 1 year of experience as a cheerleader or coach of cheerleading, gymnastics, or dance. Cheer experience required, competitive experience preferred.
  • Ability to properly spot tumbling, tumbling experience preferred.
  • Current certification for coaching (includingstunt safety)offered by USA Cheer (if not certified, must complete certification by start date).
  • Current certification for Adult CPR and AED training (if not certified, must complete certification by start date).
  • Must have reliable transportation

Salary Range: Hourly Rate to be determined by experience
