Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay is looking for an Information Technology Manager. 

Schedule: Reports to Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay M-F 8:30AM-5:00PM.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

The Information Technology Manager works closely with the Senior Director of Information Technology to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Information Technology Department. In this capacity, the Information Technology Manager has the responsibility of assisting with the integration of the Company's strategic plan with IT operations. The Information Technology Manager also provides oversight for all systems in the organization to include hardware, equipment, and users. The Information Technology Manager will exercise responsibility over the organization's systems equipment ensuring efficient, reliable services that are designed to meet the needs of all technology consumers in the organization. 

  • Leads other information technology staff to achieve great results by conveying job expectations, strategizing, overseeing and assessing results, acting as a mentor, counselor and disciplinarian, and implementing the procedures and policies issued by the company.
  • Supervises IT staff by assigning tasks, approving timesheets, training/coaching, and promoting professional development.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the organization's Information Technology including, but not limited to, cyber security, servers, telephony, networking, storage, disaster recovery, switches, routers, data circuits, firewall appliances, workstations, tablets, wireless APs, applications and connectivity to all Company approved network devices.
  • Oversees  the overall information technology architecture to ensure performance, reliability, and security of systems, effective integration of systems, and data integrity. 
  • Implements robust and documented processes, policies, and procedures to maintain the information technology environment in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Assists with the preparation of the IT budget, tracks IT expenditures and prepares reports as requested.
  • Assists with IT asset management including procurement, deployment, maintenance and disposal of IT hardware and software.
  • Maintains and updates the disaster recovery capabilities and ensures back-up processes are meeting all business needs.
  • Creating job posts, interviewing and hiring qualified candidates
  • Coordinating with resident and business stakeholders to understand technology needs, support effective technology selection, and ensure smooth implementation, integration, maintenance and support of technology solutions
  • Acts as liaison between clients, vendors, and consultants.
  • Develops and utilizes best practices to implement technology projects in alignment with departmental and organizational goals and priorities.
  • Maintains efficiency and effectiveness of the company by creating and presenting plans for bringing new information technologies into the workplace
  • Keeps job knowledge current by taking part in workshops and professional societies, reading professional publications and networking
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Experience supervising IT technical staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Google Suite or similar applications. 
  • Thorough understanding of current IT principles, programs, policies, activities, and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to explain technical problems and offer solutions to those without technological training.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Programming, or related field or equivalent experience required.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
