Job Summary

Responsible for training and developing potential line workers in the technical skills and safety protocols required for working on electrical power lines. Deliver instructional materials, conduct hands-on training sessions, evaluate students’ performance, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires extensive experience as a line worker, strong communication skills, and the ability to mentor and guide students in a high-risk environment. Ideal candidates should be passionate about safety and committed to preparing the next generation of line workers.

Job Duties:

  • Provide a minimum of 15 credit hours of instruction in person and/or online
  • Provide in-person instruction to students.
  • Maintain a minimum of 5 office hours
  • Advise students in the manufacturing division
  • Provide instruction to students in both theory and practice.
  • Maintenance and care of classrooms and training materials will also be expected.
  • Keep abreast of changes in the respective field and help keep the program updated.
  • Teach at various levels to help support the College.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding and experience with electrical power line safety requirements.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment and external business and community partners, representing himself/herself professionally and courteously.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Word).
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
  • Experience working at the community college level is preferred.
