Title: Learning Center Specialist-Part Time

Job Summary

The Learning Center Specialist is responsible for assisting students with admissions, financial aid, business services, advising, and registration during day and evening classes. Assist students with computers and proctoring tests.

Job Duties

  • 75% - Provide excellent customer service to visitors coming into the Gibson County Center • Manage office including organizing, inventorying and ordering office supplies on SciQuest • Process applications for admission and explain admission requirements • Maintain classroom/facility schedule and communicate with people using the facility • Assist students with registration and processes • Answer phones, respond to messages via phone and email • Advise students • Create signs and assist with marketing for upcoming events • Process payments; maintain daily cash balance and report and make deposits • Assist with room set up as needed • Assist with registering students for classes as needed • Perform nightly closing by locking classrooms, checking parking lots and locking outside doors • Ability to have a flexible schedule working some days and nights - (Essential)
  • 20% - Take student ID photos and follow process for ordering student IDs • Assist students with laptop loan program and checking out books through library program • Perform other duties as defined by the Director of the Gibson County Center • Administer Accuplacer testing and enter scores into Banner • Assist students with computers and proctoring testing • Act as a point of contact when Center Director is offsite - (Marginal)
  • 5% - Other duties as assigned - (Marginal)

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of office experience

Preferred Qualifications

Banner database experience or knowledge.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal and public relations communication skills; ability to effectively communicate using written and verbal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to perform calculations related to cash and accounting transactions.
• Reasoning ability required in decision making, advising and assisting students, applying relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations and performing various tasks.
• Office administration, customer service, time management, organizational, and scheduling skills required. Must be able to exercise ethics and maintain confidentiality.

Pay Rate:  $18.22 per hour annual salary depending on eligible experience which is defined by the current compensation plan.
