Title: Maintenance Associate

Institution: Volunteer State Community College

Job Summary:

To perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks and repairs to ensure a smoothly run campus and learning environment.

Job Duties:

Assist with electrical troubleshooting, wiring installation, switching devices, outlets, fixtures, motors, and other similar equipment. Perform plumbing to include assembling, installing, repairing; pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems, opening clogged drains. Perform carpenter duties which include the alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures and furniture. Maintain tools in a clean and working condition and observe safety procedures when using tools. Responsible for recycling of metal for the campus. Assist with daily exterior waste receptacles across campus. Assist with grounds maintenance, deliveries, and inventories. Serve as back up shipping and receiving clerk when needed. Preform preventative maintenance on college fleet. Responsible for refueling, washing, and general maintenance of fleet. Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
One year of related experience.
Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with driving a fork truck and or a tractor, small engine trouble shooting, or landscaping sprinkler repair.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to self-manage and prioritize tasks. Must be able to adapt and change direction based on the needs of the college.
Knowledge of carpentry tools, electrical, plumbing, and other maintenance practices.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Pay Rate: $34,736 - $41,684 annual salary depending on experience
