Maintenance Mechanic I

You will make an impact by:
Performing, supporting, and coordinating general operational services for common area maintenance and responding to requests for movement of materials, shipping and receiving, room setup and breakdown of classrooms and conference rooms, cleaning, spills, glass doors, etc.
- Manages communications with leadership and serves as a trusted resource between finance and capital spend departments.
- Receives packages and deliveries, provides assistance with the shipping and handling of large items and boxes.
- Replenishes lounge/breakroom supplies and maintains area cleanliness.
- Performs daily/weekly/monthly building audits and makes relevant corrections.
- Performs and/or coordinates preventative maintenance; cleans, adjusts, and repairs equipment and systems.
- Participates in the coordination, monitoring, scheduling, and execution of facility-related activities, service/requests with contractors and special events.
- Troubleshoots problems, repairs, tests, and makes adjustments, as necessary.
- Maintains tools and equipment required for maintenance/repair tasks and inventory of related materials.
Your experience includes:
- 2+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning repairs and maintenance.
- Clean and valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to type routine reports, correspondence, and emails.
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent time management skills and functions well under pressure of deadlines and conflicting priorities.
- Self-starter capable of operating with little daily supervision and the ability to escalate issues when and where appropriate.
- Flexible to meet the demands of the department including travel and after-hours work with the ability to drive/travel locally to respond to afterhours/weekend emergencies as requested.
- Must be able to work onsite Monday-Friday either 11am-7pm or 12pm-8pm.
Education/Certifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
- Facilities related certifications preferred.
