You will play an essential role by managing the curriculum and course development QA process, mentoring and training staff, measuring course delivery effectiveness, and ensuring compliance. You will make an impact by: 

  • Manages the daily operations and strategic vision for the editorial process, staff, and request workflows.
  • Owns, manages, and maintains the curriculum and course development QA process from request to completion.
  • Ensures all QA and editorial processes and requirements are clearly documented and easily accessible by staff from various departments within the organization using the team project management and documentation systems.
  • Provides training and mentorship opportunities for the team in collaboration with curriculum & technology team leadership.
  • Ensures courses meet the internal development standards and requirements for teaching online at West Coast University and American Career College.
  • Communicates with Curriculum and Technology personnel to ensure timelines are accurate for program and course rollout.
  • Reviews assignments, exams, and other assessment materials to ensure proper mapping to
  • Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), and Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs).
  • Reviews course materials in the LMS and syllabus templates user interfaces (UI) to ensure alignment with programmatic, accessibility, and layout and design standards.
  • Researches and contributes ideas to improve the quality and efficiency of course development and the student and faculty experience.
  • Periodically reviews all LMS course and syllabi templates for alignment with university best practices, assessment alignment, use of appropriate templates and design standards, usability for students and faculty, and accessibility standards.
  • Oversees and maintains records regarding the use of learning technologies and copyrighted or other special course materials and resources.
  • Researches and supports continuous quality improvement of WCU and ACC courses and curriculum.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive QA reports to track the quality and compliance of courses and curriculum.
  • Identifies and implements professional development opportunities for the QA and editorial teams.
  • Develops and enforces QA policies and procedures to ensure consistency and quality across all courses and programs.
  • Gathers and incorporates feedback from students, faculty, and staff to continuously improve course quality and instructional design.

Your Experience Includes:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in quality assurance processes within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of online and blended learning standards and best practices.
  • Excellent supervisory and mentoring skills.
  • Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and educational technologies.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing projects, including setting timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring timely delivery of course materials.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education technology, instructional design, information technology, higher education leadership, or closely related field required.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
