Job Summary

Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students the Director for Student Engagement, Leadership, and Activities is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive student engagement programming throughout the student lifecycle and across all campus sites. The area of Student Engagement in the Student Success Hub includes, but is not limited to, student clubs and organizations, civic learning and democratic engagement, student leadership development, social consciousness, academic and wellness integration, and service learning. The director will develop and implement assessable programs and services, aligned with the mission of the College that are designed to complement and enhance the academic experience.

The Director will take a holistic approach to student engagement and development to provide an equitable education experience for an inclusive learning environment. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Student Success Services (Student Success Hub).

Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement the College’s Student Engagement plan, which will ensure there is a diverse range of activities that enrich the student experience at all campuses.

  • Supervise Student Engagement Coordinator.

  • Coordinate promotion of student activities and engagement opportunities to students, faculty, and staff.

  • Develop and maintain the student engagement portal/website to promote student activities and events to the student body.

  • Oversee and direct the Student Leadership Ambassador program at all campuses.

  • Coordinate with the Student Leadership Ambassador site supervisors to hire and train ambassadors and staff them where needed.

  • Serve as the Co-advisor to the Student Government organizations and ensure certain publications (e.g., club and organization bylaws and calendar of events) are up to date via all medium.

  • Assist with budget planning for the Heart pantry and Heart Express food stations at all campuses.

  • Coordinate and supervise the Heart of BCTC food pantry including tracking input and output of stock, building community partnerships, promotion, donation drives, and assisting students.

  • Ensure the stocking of the Heart and Heart Express food stations at all campuses and coordinate delivery of online orders.

  • Assist with the coordination of Student Success Hub activities.

  • Provide oversight and training to Hub staff (professional and student) answering student issues and questions on the KCTCS app to ensure student needs are being met and important issues are being reviewed as needed.

  • Collect and analyze data in developing progress reports and evaluations for making data-guided decisions that support college operations and foster student success.

  • Ensure a student learning approach to civic and service programming that effectively meets the social, cultural, recreational, spiritual, and educational needs of the campus community.

  • Provide fiscal oversight and management of several budgets, including clubs and organizations.

    Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and a years of related experience  

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, and two years related experience
