Full Time

As a painter, you will be responsible for identifying the proper paint system to be applied and making sure paint is approved by management, preparing surfaces by spackling, putting, wire brushing, stripping, calking, and correct cleaning methods to allow for proper adhesion, and applying paint with the right tools and techniques. In this role, you will inspect buildings for graffiti, advise your supervisor when emergencies occur or assistance is needed, be on call to handle emergencies, and follow all SCAD policies and procedures. Additionally, your responsibilities will include completing work order requests, using the work order system to document problems that need correction, meeting schedules and timelines, and coordinating work with other areas of the physical resources team. 

Minimum Qualifications:    

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • At least 5 years of related experience 
  • Ability to read and understand directions and work in a team environment 
  • Ability to climb or stand for extended periods 
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass the DOT qualifications 

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: 

  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Acceptance as a SCAD authorized driver  

Travel Required:  

  • 20% to 40%  

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
