Part Time Professor, Interactive Design/Game Development
SCAD Savannah seeks an experienced part-time professor of interactive experience and game development to use their advanced knowledge of emerging interfaces (AR/VR/IoT), creative technologies (low code/no code tools), design frameworks (HCD and system innovation) to instruct and inspire remarkable students as they reach toward their professional goals.

As an interactive design and game development faculty member, you will work with a team of esteemed professional and academic colleagues in administering program curriculum and fostering a positive community for the next generation of game artists.
The successful candidate has worked with front-end web development, has familiarity with low code/no code tools for application development, and excels in the visual design of UI/UX for web, app, and AR/VR productions. The university seeks artists and educators who will encourage innovation and process development while ensuring practical concepts of the design profession remain a constant element. The candidate should be proficient in industry software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, and ProtoPie!, and feel comfortable working with low code development tools (like bubble.io) for building web based minimum viable produces (MVP). Candidates should also know web authoring languages HTML, CSS, PHP, and some object-oriented programming. Familiarity with design frameworks beyond Human Centered Design (i.e. Universal Design, Systems Innovation, Speculative Design) is preferred. The candidate should also be capable of instructing students in the design of generative AI interactive experiences, and be able to instruct them on the utilization of generative AI tools as a part of the interactive experience design process. The candidate should be able to impart production insights in a successful professional environment while working with agile development methodologies. Experience with Unity for AR experiences and physical computing would be a bonus. Professional-level visual art and design production experience is preferred, as is university-level teaching experience and online coursework development.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Terminal degree in the discipline or in a related field.
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
- Experience in or knowledge of related professions.
- Academic and professional credentials to teach in a certain discipline.
