Physical Requirements

This position will require the ability to occasionally lift, push, and/or pull 50-100lbs; sitting/standing at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; repetitive motion; risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; occasional cuts, punctures, bloodborne/airborne pathogens; and occasionally dealing with combative/violent people.



Shift

UK hospitals operate on a 24-hour, 7-day a week basis. As an exempt level employee, shift will vary and include days, nights, evenings, weekends and holidays per departmental needs.



Job Summary

The unit is a 34-bed acute care unit. The Patient Care Manager for the ortho/general surgical floor has 24/7 responsibility. They work closely with the Assistant Patient Care Manager in providing the resources and tools necessary in caring for this population. The responsibilities include but are not limited to quality and safety, staffing, hiring, and coordinating aspects of daily patient care on the inpatient unit.

The primary responsibilities are to provide for the safe, effective, and efficient care of the patient as well as to direct the business, technical and nursing support activities of the clinic. This individual is responsible for successful management.
