Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: standing or walking with objects 10-25lbs; regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motion (such as typing); occasional exposure to loud noises, hazardous chemicals and fumes, and blood borne/airborne pathogens; occasional dealings with combative or violent people; and occasional (<10% of the time) job related travel.



Shift

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some weekends, evenings, and nights required per business needs.



Job Summary

The Nurse Manager for Case Management will be responsible for directing the daily operations for the Case Management nursing staff by providing workflow management, assessing organizational structure, processes, tools, work productivity and standards. This position will establish goals and objectives for the staff; serve as the primary communication liaison for clinical department leadership; and promote Case Management initiatives. The Manager will also manage staffing needs by interviewing and selecting best-fit candidates; complete time-keeping functions; lead through appropriate training, coaching, and corrective action; and serve as the next level of escalation for staff and other departmental contacts.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical nursing experience with knowledge of professional nursing theory; critical-thinking; have direct patient care experience; have the ability to lead and direct others toward goal setting and attainment, taking into account divergent demands while managing scope and timelines; demonstrates strong analytical and qualitative research experience; be well organized; have exceptional communication skills (written & verbal); have experience creating and using web-based surveys; enjoy working independently as well as closely with their co-workers in a supportive team environment; outstanding computer skills (to include Microsoft Office); above average customer service skills; strong ability to engage and motivate others; active listening skills; and a thorough understanding of resource and employee management. Additionally, candidate should be able to advocate for the patient and healthcare organization to create healthcare continuity and quality clinical outcomes.

Preferred Education/Experience

MSN with 3 years managerial experience in an acute care setting preferred. Case Management experience preferred.
