Physical Requirements

May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.



Shift

Hours range from 6:00am – 6:30pm, primarily Monday – Friday, typically 1 out of 8 weekends and some holiday requirement



Job Summary

UK Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated pharmacist for a program coordinator in outpatient infusion. The pharmacist makes clinical interventions in terms of patient education, clinical pharmacokinetic/anti-coagulation/immunosuppressant monitoring, drug information, cost-effective care analysis, direct patient care, and interacts with pharmacy residents and students. This position will be based primarily in the adult outpatient infusion setting (non-oncology + oncology) with duties including order verification, oversight of sterile hazardous compounding in accordance with USP 797/800, and collaboration with nursing and physician colleagues regarding drug therapy administration. Additionally, the program coordinator will be responsible for pharmacy and therapeutics (P&T) subcommittee oversight, risk evaluation and mitigation strategy (REMS) oversight, supply chain coordination and will serve as a staff education lead.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of inpatient pharmacy workflows; understanding of pharmacy information systems and automation; and knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare related regulations and standards.

Preferred Education/Experience

PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency preferred. 3-4 years of experience preferred.
