Shift

Varies. Satellite is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Provides coverage for days off and vacation leaves;
Shifts may include – Weekdays: 7am – 3:30pm, 9:30am – 6pm, 2pm – 10pm, 10pm – 8am;
Weekends: 7am -3:30pm, 11am – 7pm, 7pm-7am.



Job Summary

In this position the candidate will provide pharmaceutical care to patients admitted to the UK HealthCare Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Responsibilities include: reviewing and perfecting medication orders, reviewing drug profiles to ensure appropriateness of therapy and contacting and conferring with physicians and other practitioners to optimize medication therapy. Actively participating in all aspects of the medication reconciliation process and promotion of economically conscientious use of medication. Daily activities may include active participation on patient care rounds, review of patient profiles, and provision of pharmacokinetic evaluation of therapeutic regimens.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Knowledge of inpatient hospital pharmacy practice; Strong clinical skills; Ability to prioritize.

Preferred Education/Experience

Hospital Experience preferred. Pediatric Pharmacy Experience highly preferred.
