Physical Requirements

PhD degree in biological sciences, biomedical informatics, bioinformatics, or a related field is required. Exposure and experience with whole-genome sequencing data is preferred.



Shift

Monday through Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required.



Job Summary

This position involves creating and using tools to analyze genomic and transcriptomic data in large datasets. The application domains are Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia, aging, and cancer. Responsibilities include (a) genomic and transcriptomic analyses, (b) writing code and maintaining the corresponding project-specific GitHub repositories, and © first authoring papers and helping students as a co-author.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

A strong foundation in programming languages such as Python and R for large-scale data analysis. Familiarity with commonly used genomics tools is preferred. Prior experience in writing scientific papers is preferred. Experience in genomic and transcriptomic analysis is also preferred.
