Job Summary

MUST BE A FULL-TIME UK STUDENT IN GOOD STANDING. Student Wellness Ambassadors are a diverse group of students who work with the Prevention, Outreach, and Wellness Education Resources (POWER) Team in Student Success to support the health and wellbeing of University of Kentucky students by reducing risk, preventing illness, and empowering healthy behavior change. The Student Wellness Ambassador will work with the team to provide health education outreach on topics such as stress management, body image, nutrition, physical activity, tobacco/vape cessation, sexual health, alcohol and other drugs, and other related wellness topics. Student Wellness Ambassadors are leaders and work in teams to plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate health education outreach programs.

Student Wellness Ambassadors can develop skills in leadership, public speaking, peer-to-peer information sharing, outreach, marketing, and evaluation. Student Wellness Ambassadors also have the opportunity to work with students and professionals from diverse organizations and departments across campus. Student Wellness Ambassadors provide programming that is sensitive to race, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, culture, religion, and individual capabilities.

This position is also Federal Work-Study eligible, if you qualify.
