Program Coordinator, MS in Game Development

Job Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the MS in Game Development program, including course management, development, and scheduling, student records and advising, and oversight of recruiting, admissions, and industry partner collaborations. This position may also teach one or more game studies or game development courses.

Duties & Responsibilities

Program Management:

  • Contribute to and coordinate academic proposals for game studies programs, training, and courses.
  • Maintain contact with game industry professionals and develop partnership opportunities among game industry companies to establish university- corporate education and training programs in game design.
  • Contribute to external funding proposals in collaboration with University stakeholders and industry partners.
  • Supervise student GA and hourly support. manage and perform course scheduling.

Student Services:

  • Advise MS in Game Development Students.
  • Manage student records.

Recruiting and Admissions:

  • Collaborate on efforts to recruit new students into the MS for Game Development.
  • Oversee Admissions process and campus-wide selection committees.

Additional Physical Demands

Work is performed in a typical office environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree. A total of five years in education, training, and or/work experience in video game design and/or game development. Demonstrated experience with student programming and/or student advising in a university setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years' management experience in the game development industry.
  • 1 year's experience teaching adults.
  • B.A. or B.S. in any related field.
  • 10 years' experience in the game design or development industry.
  • 2 years' experience coordinating or managing any related program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of game development.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 9/27/2024. The budgeted salary is $65,000 to $90,000, We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements.
