Required License/Registration/Certification
Maintain certification and licensure by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) R.T.® and Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) Kentucky State Radiation Operator License at all times. Certification and licensure by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Radiologist Assistant (R.R.A) or board eligible. Must obtain certification of R.R.A. within 1 year of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
This position requires regularly lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; and performing tasks with repetitive motions; intermittently standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time, and occasionally working at heights above four feet and/or in confined spaces. Also involves regular to occasional risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to loud noises, temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals, and fumes including waste, radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people.
Shift
Primarily Monday through Friday day shift with on-call requirements based on department needs.

About the role: As the Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA), you will play a crucial role in an acute and critical care hospital setting, working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. You will function primarily in the Radiology Department managing and/or assisting in the care of acute and chronically ill patients related to pre, intra, and post-fluoroscopy and/or interventional procedures.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education.
- Knowledgeable with Radiology equipment and procedures.
- Provides quick and accurate imaging during urgent and emergent situations.
- Adapts imaging techniques and clinical interactions to meet the needs of a diverse patient population.
- Performs procedures within the RRA scope of practice under the direct supervision of the Radiologist, adhering to all relevant protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records within a health system.

Preferred Education/Experience
- Must obtain certification of R.R.A. within 1 year of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire.
- Proficient in assessing and managing patients, and performing select clinical procedures under the direct supervision of a Radiologist.
- Proficiency in operating radiologic equipment, understanding imaging protocols; effective communication skills with patients, Radiologists, and other healthcare professionals; strong analytical skills.
