Job Summary

The Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA) is seeking a Research Administrator Senior.
Applicants with direct research administrator experience may be eligible for remote work.


OSPA is responsible for administering over $330 million in extramural grants and contracts awarded through the University of Kentucky Research Foundation. Services are available to all University faculty and staff and include: advice and assistance with budget preparation and other administrative requirements of proposals; proposal submission; review, negotiation and acceptance of awards; interpretation and information regarding sponsor policies and regulations; preparation of subcontract documents; administration of UK’s Conflict of Interest Policy. The position will be primarily responsible for independently reviewing and negotiating research-related agreements, including federal and industry contracts and clinical trial agreements.

The successful candidate will work with sponsors to negotiate contracts and other agreements in accordance with applicable regulations, legal requirements and University policy, and will have excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and collaborative skills. A J.D. and/or contract negotiation experience is preferred, and a strong interest in helping the University’s investigators in their pursuit and management of research funding is essential.
