Physical Requirements
Applicant must be able to lift, carry, and handle objects of at least 50 pounds.
Applicant must also be able to work outdoors throughout the year to assist with field work, this includes the heat of the summer and occasionally during the cold months of winter.

Job Summary
The Department of Plant and Soil Sciences in the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment works towards developing sustainable food and crop production practices in Kentucky. The position of Soil Microbiology Research Analyst will be stationed on the main UK campus in Lexington, KY. This position will be responsible for a variety of lab management duties, including purchasing, scheduling and maintenance of equipment, training of students, and maintaining compliance with environmental health and safety requirements. The position will also be responsible for research tasks such as soil sample processing, microbial physiological analyses, and molecular analysis of soil microbial communities.
