Position Information

Hiring Department: Research & Innovation - Research Evaluation & Assessment Services (REAS)

Posting End Date: Open until filled.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends

FLSA status: Exempt

Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.

Salary: $55,000 annually.

A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.



Purpose of Position

Summary:Under the general supervision and with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment, performs moderately complex specialized research projects. May supervise the work of others.

Essential Functions

Conducts, monitors, and analyzes research projects and data.

Uses statistical methods for the relational databases to analyze data sets.

Prepares reports of research findings.

Conducts data-gathering interviews/tests.

Authors or edits technical reports and summaries of findings.

Assists with planning, developing, coordinating, and administering research projects.

Assists with formulating research objectives, programs, and priorities.

May assist in designing and creating computer programs for research applications.

May trains users on the operation and data management of research equipment.

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



Education: Master's in the social/behavioral sciences or related discipline

and

Experience: No minimum experience required



Preferred Qualifications:

Three years of experience including:

Knowledge of statistical concepts and methods and their application to research analysis, of measurement, testing, and evaluation, and of research methods, principles, techniques, and philosophies.

Skills in conducting qualitative and quantitative research and in using computers, software, and statistical tools and programs.

Ability to plan, organize, and oversee research projects, evaluate research data, ensure the development of measuring instruments with respect to reliability, relevance, and validity, interpret and publish research findings, and communicate effectively.
