Job Summary
This position involves support of instruments and user activity in two service centers in the College of Engineering: the Center for Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CeNSE) and the Electron Microscopy Center (EMC). This position also involves project work in support of faculty research groups. The service center work will primarily involve training of new users, support of users as they design and implement their experiments, and development of new or refined techniques for use in the centers. Work with the faculty research group will involve participation in ongoing research projects, in areas of science and engineering that include the type of work performed in the two service centers.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Experimental materials research experience and an understanding of processing, microstructure and properties across a broad class of materials; familiarity with multiple techniques for the characterization of materials.

Preferred Education/Experience
PhD in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or related discipline, with 2+ years of experience performing experimentation in the materials research area.
