Ability to lift/push/pull/carry over 50 lbs. Working with large animals, feed and machinery.



Shift

Monday-Friday; 6:30am – 2:30pm; evenings/weekends and holidays as needed.



Job Summary

The College of Agriculture, Food and Environment is seeking a Farm Technician for the Beef Unit located in Woodford County; Versailles, KY. This position has responsibility for ensuring that animal nutrition and animal care are maintained at the high standards necessary not only for successful, reliable research, but for overall animal welfare. Oversees the day-to-day feeding and care of research animals. Assist in the birth of calves, transport and care for cattle, immunize, render health treatments. Will maintain feed records and have a working knowledge of computer software programs. Assist Graduate Students research and supervise undergraduate student workers as needed. Help maintain equipment and keep the unit clean and orderly.
