Position Information

Hiring Department: COHS DEAN'S OFFICE

Posting End Date: Open until filled. This posting may close once a sufficient number of qualified applications have been received.

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends

FLSA status: Non-exempt

Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.

Salary: $37,500 annually, commensurate with experience.

A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.



Purpose of Position

Receives general supervision and works within guidelines that are generally defined. Performs technical tasks requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Essential Functions

Performs data collection, and reporting in support of research professional/faculty projects.

Calculates data in support of project and test hypotheses associated with project; manipulates data to produces charts and graphs to display trends in data; organizes data and interprets data results for reporting; identifies and develops additional data sources other than those provided.

Collects database done on established procedures/mediums, performs data entry functions, and computerizes spreadsheets and databases.

Maintains records, labs, and equipment related to assigned projects.

Operates, adjusts, calibrates, and assembles equipment.

Reads, records, and tabulates instrument data.

Collects specimens and/or samples.

May order laboratory equipment and supplies; inventories and stocks laboratory areas as required.

Maintains basic understanding of survey procedures and stays abreast of applicable technologies.

May advise/supervise undergraduate/graduate assistants or lower-level technicians on research techniques.

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications:

Education: One year college coursework in a field relevant to the research.

and

Experience: One year of experience, related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
