Reporting to the Associate Director of Reunions, the Reunion Class Manager will be part of the Alumni Relations (AR) Reunions team responsible for ensuring the exceptional execution of Reunions for Harvard Business School. Through a commitment to lifelong learning and engagement, the AR team is at the hub of cultivating and stewarding the alumni community in their affinity and connection to HBS. HBS Reunions are fundamental to this effort. Each year, over 6,200 alumni and their guests come back to campus for 3-4 days to re-engage with section mates, classmates, faculty and the School.
Position Description
- Independently manage and execute an individual portfolio of high level, complex Reunions
- Engage with reunion volunteer leaders and committee members to plan and create a meaningful and holistic reunion experience that includes class and section programs and activities
- Provide expertise in coordinating and executing events through the planning, oversight and execution of class related receptions, dinners and events during on-campus reunions
- Recruit and maintain close relations with alumni volunteers to coordinate reunion activities, alumni engagement programs and other related events
- Collaborate closely with Reunion & Leadership Giving Officers in Development to support fundraising efforts
- Manage and implement a portfolio of special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned
- Establish strong working relationship with alumni, volunteers, colleagues, vendors, leaders, and other constituents; act as liaison between reunion classes and HBS
- Engage in operational duties associated with class management including class related budgeting and fee setting
- Responsible for other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of related experience required
Additional Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in event planning, especially working with volunteers
- Advanced organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and adhere to strict schedules on multiple projects for individual assignments as well as those of the team
- Able to relate to high-powered alumni constituency with poise and self-confidence
- Strong professional, interpersonal, team and leadership skills; tactfulness and flexibility in working with diverse population groups
- Sound judgment based on the ability to analyze problems and develop practical and effective solutions to a variety of problems
- Detail-oriented and efficient
- Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change
- Demonstrated creative and strategic-thinking qualities a plus
- Ability to work independently, get projects done by enlisting the cooperation of others and manage details
- Proven ability to supervise and motivate others and to work effectively with a team
- Excellent computer skills relating to the full Microsoft Suite, event management applications, and database reporting tools
- Must be able and willing to work long hours, and available for evening and weekend work, related to the execution of events
- Experience in an academic or non-profit environment preferred
Additional Information
This position is approved as a term appointment with an end date of 06/30/25.
This is a hybrid position which we consider to be a combination of remote and onsite work at our Boston, MA based campus. HBS expects all staff to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per week and departments provide onsite coverage Monday – Friday. Specific hours and days onsite will be determined by business needs and are subject to change with appropriate advanced notice.

Work Format Details
This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
