Job Summary

This position is located in Hazard, Kentucky.

The University of Kentucky Center of Excellence in Rural Health (UK CERH) is seeking a Rural Outreach Coordinator to support a range of program activities. This position will assist with the Kentucky Homeplace program by coordinating program activities, managing office supplies, distributing promotional materials, conducting quality improvement tasks such as client surveys, and overseeing logistics for staff meetings and travel arrangements. The role will also involve supporting training efforts by facilitating and tracking internal and external training programs, managing the training calendar, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with educational requirements. Additionally, the Rural Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for outreach and recruitment, building relationships with community organizations and educational institutions to promote UK CERH training opportunities.

The University of Kentucky Center of Excellence in Rural Health was established by state legislation in 1990 to address health disparities in rural Kentucky and the unique challenges faced by our communities. The mission was and still is today to improve the health and wellbeing of rural Kentuckians. For more than three decades, the Center has partnered with communities, providers, students, and individuals to provide health professions education, health policy research, health care service, and community engagement toward reaching this mission.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Project coordination, training facilitation and planning, ability to travel for work (i.e. meetings, conferences, trainings) on a regular basis

Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree with 2-3 years experience with coordinating projects and facilitating trainings. Valid driver’s license preferred.
