Position Summary
The University of Southern Indiana is accepting applications for Senior Administrative Assistant (Gerontology).
To provide support services for the Kinney College of Nursing and Health Professions, Master of Health Administration, Health Informatics and Information Management, Gerontology and Nursing programs. This position also provides support to the Senior Administrative Associate.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in development, maintenance, and improvement of student information systems by establishing files on new students; entering information in databases; compiling reports; preparing student lists and mailings; for two undergraduate programs and one graduate program.
- Provide support to the program Chair(s) and faculty including credit card use & reconciliation, collection and collation of accreditation documents, and curriculum documents.
- Maintain and track student health documentation for both programs. Process student forms and update student records.
- Assist in the preparation of special events/projects for students, staff, and faculty. Assist in compilation of data for accreditation reports as needed.
- Establish and maintain student files and databases to facilitate student selection and orientation, and health records. Assist faculty in preparing class syllabi and other instruction materials.
- Assist in the update of student and faculty handbooks. Prepare mailings and reports as requested.
- Answer phone and supply application materials to prospective students.
- Provide a variety of support services including the continual improvement of the supply ordering system, payment processing requests and purchase requisitions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- High school diploma or GED and two years office or comparable work experience required.
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, databases, electronic mail, and internet programs required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills required. Strong customer service skills required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task required.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- College degree or some college coursework preferred.
- Working knowledge of Blackboard preferred.
Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements
Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours may be adjusted for program/center coverage needs.
An occasional change in schedule and/or overtime may be required.
