Position Summary
The University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) invites Part-Time Faculty candidates for Small Interactive Groups Facilitator. This position is responsible for guiding and evaluating the SIGS process. Small Group Interactive Sessions (SIGS) are a cornerstone of the first two years of UIWSOM's Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) curriculum. During the first two years, learners meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings in small groups with a faculty process facilitator. Candidates who are selected for the position must successfully complete the SIGS facilitator training program. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission.
This applicant pool will remain online and be used to hire interested part-time faculty in designated area as needed during the 2024-2024 Academic Year.

Essential Functions
  • Guide a group of 8-10 learners in the SIGS process to ensure the boundaries of the session are followed.
  • Follow up with reflection questions as appropriate.
  • Conduct performative and summative evaluations of learners.
  • Attend SIGS facilitator debriefs.
  • Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met.
  • Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.
  • Maintain contact with the department chair and participate in meetings upon request.
  • Adhere to UIW policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education
Master's degree in any education or health profession field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in small group facilitation.
  • Doctoral level or terminal degree.

Work Hours
8-10 hours per week. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.
