Job Summary

The College of Social Work is seeking a highly motivated Social Media Specialist to develop, implement and analyze the College’s social media strategy. The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for the content strategy for the College’s social media platforms, including X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok, as well as the creation of graphics, videos and photos to be shared across those platforms.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop relevant and engaging content for the College’s social media platforms, staying up to date on current social media trends, tools and best practices.
  • Create high-quality graphics and videos to be shared across all platforms, maintaining the College’s brand standards and voice.
  • Implement social media strategies that align with the College’s goals and execute those strategies, boosting social media engagement.
  • Track and analyze social media metrics to gauge the effectiveness of the social media strategy and various social media campaigns.
  • Prepare monthly social media reports and suggest improvements to optimize engagement.
  • Create and maintain paid social media ad campaigns to maximize reach to targeted audiences.
  • Collaborate with constituents across the College of Social Work and the University of Kentucky to stay connected with all the events, research, conferences, etc. that the College’s faculty, staff and students are participating in.
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for growth and improvement across channels.
  • Be a self-starter and an expert in the social media field, creating eye-catching content that represents the College’s mission and brand.
