40 hours per week; Mostly Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm but there will be some evenings and weekends.





Job Summary

The University of Kentucky Family and Community Engagement office is seeking an Assistant Director. Reporting to the Director of Family and Community Engagement, the Assistant Director is responsible for planning and overseeing all signature events and family volunteer opportunities. The incumbent will coordinate all communications, marketing, and technology for the office. The Assistant Director will support students and their families on a case-by-case basis through
implementation of established case management processes. This position will directly supervise an AmeriCorps VISTA, 5 student interns, and 3 student Family Weekend marketing and event coordinators.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Knowledge of issues facing college students and their families
  • Ability to develop and maintain campus partnerships
  • Experience with large event planning
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with purchasing procedures and money management
  • The ability to make decisions
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with supervision and student leadership development
