Job Summary

Somerset Community College is accepting applications for a Student Support Specialist II- CCAMPIS Program Coordinator. This position will serve as Project Director managing all activities for the college’s CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parent in School) grant in accordance with Department of Education grant requirements and SCC and KCTCS policies and procedures.

Job Duties:

• Update the CCAMPIS application and participant agreements.
• Select and verify participants and ensure proper agreements and paperwork are completed.
• Provide non-academic barrier support/resources.
• Monitor participants’ academic progress.
• Identify and recruit SCC parenting students.
• Plan parenting student workshops and events.
• Additions to description:
• Complete childcare contracts with partnering childcare centers.
• Work to facilitate partnering childcare centers improvement (and/or maintenance) of KY ALL-STARS rankings.
• Connect with the Early Childhood Education communities within the SCC service area, as well as ECE national news, to remain knowledgeable of (and connected) to the early childhood populace.
• Identify and recruit childcare providers for partnership.
• Work with other departments and programs to effectively aid parenting students.
• Work with SCC’s Marketing team to develop recruitment and event materials.
• Publicize CCAMPIS program within SCC student body.
• Work with the business office to ensure timely payment of childcare center services.
• Facilitation of CCAMPIS budget
• Maintain proper paperwork for Annual Reporting to the Department of Education grants specialist.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (early childhood, counseling, social work, or related field working with parents and children) with a minimum of 3 years' experience providing exemplary care to young children in a certified center or school and 2 years of supervisory or project management experience.
