Job Summary
The Allied Health Division of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening for a Surgical Technology Adjunct Instructor.
Job Duties:
This position will be responsible for:
• Part-time didactic and clinical instruction in the Surgical Technology program
• Academic advising for current and potential Surgical Technology program students
• Surgical Technology program course and curriculum development
• Internal service to the college via committee participation and engagement as a faculty member
• Continued growth as an instructor and surgical technologist via professional development
• Coordination and monitoring of student clinical placements at local healthcare facilities
• Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records according to all JCTC and ARC/STSA policies and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by Surgical Technology program coordinator and Dean of Allied Health.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in related field, certified surgical technologist with at least three years’ teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Experience in, and understanding of the importance of, working with students from diverse backgrounds required. This position requires the ability to work in a culturally diverse environment, which consists of frequent contact with a diverse constituency of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
