Job Summary

The laboratory of Dr. Chang-Guo Zhan is seeking a temporary lab tech. The lab tech will prepare experimental materials for testing in animals, serve as the lab manager to coordinate evaluation of the prepared materials in animals (particularly mice and rats) for their pharmacological effects, and ensure the lab’s animal studies follow the approved IACUC protocols.

For the animal studies on the drug candidates, plasma and/or other tissue samples will be collected for determining the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profiles of the drug candidates.

The lab tech will also maintain supply and sample inventory, organize lab space, maintain safety documentation, and manage chemical and biohazard waste.

Basic chemistry skills, record keeping, and organizational skills
Animal handling and behavioral evaluation
Biochemical techniques for animal sample analysis
