University Safety Operations Center Specialist
As the university safety operations center specialist, you will direct and dispatch campus safety patrol officers to areas of concerns and calls for service. You will monitor intrusion alarms, retrieve camera footage for use in court testimony, and testify in criminal proceedings when necessary. You will also utilize basic crime analysis software to assist in the deployment of field personnel and manage campus transportation requests.
This position is identified as essential personnel in the university's emergency and disaster response plans. In the event of a university closure or evacuation, you must report.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in a public safety, military command, or a dispatch center
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Valid driver's license
Travel Required:
- 10–20%
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
