The role will be responsible for the following:
Under the supervision of the Program Director and/or Lead Faculty, Adjunct Instructors have as their chief duty the instruction of assigned classes, providing quality instruction for student learning and maintaining a positive learning environment in the classroom. Classes are taught in a variety of formats (virtual, online, hybrid, on-ground). Responsibilities for Adjunct Instructors include conducting classes using appropriate instructional practices, maintain records of attendance, evaluate student performance on assignments or lab activities, assign midterm grades, assign final grades, utilize faculty feedback, complete mandatory training as needed, and perform other duties as assigned. Beyond teaching responsibilities, Adjunct Instructors are also obligated to comply and support college policies as set forth in the Strategic Plan, the College Catalog, the Adjunct Faculty Handbook, and the Employment Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and vocational training related to maintenance systems. 3+ years commercial and industrial maintenance experience. Position requires a working knowledge of a variety of complex systems
Preferred Qualifications
Maintenance-related certifications and licensures. HVAC Universal certification. Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather conditions for prolonged periods. Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary. Valid motor vehicle operator's license if required. Some experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

In the post-award phase, the Executive Director, with the support of their staff, will collaborate with and support the principle investigators of the award to ensure the successful implementation of all of the components of the award; ensure compliance with all internal and external rules, regulations, policies, and laws governing the expenditure of awarded funds; and will ensure timely required reporting to funding agencies. The Executive Director will collaborate with colleagues in the department of Institutional Advancement to aid in the securing of external funding types outside of the purview of the Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs.Duties and Responsibilities:Duties include but not limited to:Essential:• Develop and implement strategic plans to maximize the Office's impact, generate new sources of funding, attract and sustain premiere sponsors, and expand the University's capacity for proposal writing and grants management.• Cultivate a productive working relationship with public and private program offices, congressional offices, and local, state, and federal reviewing and/or approving agencies.• Work collaboratively with principal investigators and key stakeholders to showcase faculty research innovations.• Ensure the planning, submission, implementation, and reporting for funding opportunities at the local, state, and federal level for projects in alignment with the mission and strategic priorities of the institution.• Monitor progress of projects supported by funding awards and provide timely communication to funding sources in the form of regular progress reports as required by the funding body.• Collaborate with colleagues in the Finance department to ensure compliance with all internal and external rules, regulations, policies, and laws governing the expenditure of awarded funds.• Oversee the successful completion of regular review of the Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs and associated functions.• Work collaboratively to identify areas of improvement for the Office and to formulate plans to implement improvements, including to any University policies, guidelines, and resources central to a robust infrastructure for grants management.• Mentor and recognize employees in the Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs and promote grants-centered collaborations across University divisions and in particular with faculty across all academic disciplines.• Perform other duties as assigned.Job Requirements:Required Qualifications:• Master's degree or equivalent record of professional qualifications and achievement• Substantial experience in sponsored research administration in progressively responsible leadership roles• Proficiency in the development and delivery of presentations, reports, and other communication assets to a variety of executive, corporate, and community stakeholders• Expert ability to represent Westfield State University• Well-honed supervisory and leadership skills including intercultural skills necessary for working collaboratively within a diverse educational environment• Strong problem-solving skills• Proficiency in the use of office technologyPreferred Qualifications:• Experience working in higher education• Experience working within union environmentsAdditional Information:Salary:Salaries for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining agreements as well as state policies. Full-time faculty at UIW are expected to teach four courses in the fall semester and four courses in the spring semester. Note that a 3-credit hour release is given to the Dietetic Internship (DI) Director. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities.
