Job Description:POSITION SUMMARY:The Administrative Faculty is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. In addition to teaching, curriculum development, student advisement, and other academic responsibilities, this position has the responsibility of coordinating the Marriage &amp; Family Therapy (MFT) African American Family Studies (AAFS) specialization. Under the supervision of the Department Head and/or Lead Faculty, Dual Enrollment Instructors have as their chief duty the instruction of assigned college classes in area high schools, providing quality instruction for student learning and maintaining a positive learning environment in the classroom. College classes are taught at several area high schools using a variety of formats, (on-ground, virtual, online, and hybrid). Responsibilities for Dual Enrollment Instructors include: conducting classes using appropriate instructional practices, maintaining records of attendance, evaluating student performance on assignments or lab activities, assigning mid-term grades, assigning final grades, utilizing faculty feedback, completing mandatory training as needed, and performing other duties as assigned. Beyond teaching responsibilities, Dual Enrollment Instructors are also obligated to comply with and support college policies as set forth in the Strategic Plan, the College Catalog, the Adjunct Faculty Handbook, and the Employment Agreement.

Required Qualifications: 
Bachelor’s degree in a qualifying field, or an associate degree in a qualifying field with certifications, or an Associate degree in a qualifying field and 5 years applicable work experience. All qualified applicants must hold or have held a professional license from the NRC as a Senior Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator Certification with at least 5&nbsp;years of experience in the field. Qualifying fields are Chemical, Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Technology or Nuclear Power Operations. Experience with GPWR Nuclear Simulation Software and NUCP certification are a plus. Ability to write operating procedures based on engineering and technical specifications is needed.

<li>The individual must be able to conduct flight training on the simulators. </li>
<li>The faculty member must be familiar with using a Learning Management System for conducting face-to-face and online classes. </li>
<li>The faculty member will be responsible for the coordinating, planning, preparing, presenting, and evaluating classroom instruction and related activities, including overseeing all compliance requirements of the FAR Part 141 standards. </li>
<li>Managing agreements with flight training providers with the goal of increasing student completions in the pilot program. </li>
<li>The faculty member is responsible for performing assigned teaching duties during the day, evening, and occasionally weekends of any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus as assigned.  </li>

<li>Prepares and delivers instruction on topics in Academic Success.</li>
<li>Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.</li>
<li>Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.</li>
<li>Maintains office hours for students seeking academic advice, assists in student recruitment and retention; and assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom.</li>
<li>Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with federal FERPA regulations.</li>
<li>Attends all faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Dean or Department Chair.</li>
<li>Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.</li>
<li>Participates in departmental and college committees; and provides outreach service to the community.</li>
<li>May perform other duties as assign by Department Head/Dean.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree in another discipline with 18 hours of graduate work in the teaching discipline.</li>
<li>Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in higher education or one (1) year teaching experience and three (3) years employment in the field.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of current teaching and learning strategies to facilitate student-centered learning; experience interacting successfully with an ever-growing student population.</li>
<li>Skill in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.</li>
<li>Ability to integrate technology into course delivery.</li>
<li>Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.</li>
<li>Willingness and flexibility to teach classes using various instructional delivery methods at any of the seven locations.</li>
</ul>
