JOB SUMMARY
The Adult Education Instructor (Part-time) is a grant-funded position.&nbsp; The selected candidate(s) will work one on one with students to deliver state required curriculum, meeting the educational and career needs of each student through teaching, testing, orientation, counseling and other instructional activities as assigned by the Program Director/Assistant Program Director.
In addition, the selected candidate(s) are responsible for assisting the Adult Education District Coordinator in providing a program-wide educational atmosphere where adult students can fulfill educational goals by earning a high school equivalency diploma and/or improving skills in English as a second language, mathematics, language, science, social studies, reading, and improvements through the achievement of levels defined by the NRS.&nbsp;
&nbsp;ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

<li>Plan, teach and evaluate student work.</li>
<li>Ensure curriculum remains current as set forth by the Adult Education program.</li>
<li>Implement and monitor classroom instructional activities to ensure a climate were students are actively engaging in meaningful learning experiences.</li>
<li>Participate in the assessment of curricular needs/plans for improvement and provide training for these changes.</li>
<li>Conduct and/or monitor staff in presenting Adult Education Orientation and Testing using state approved assessments.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Monitor teacher/staff record keeping, ensuring that effective and efficient record keeping procedures are maintained through JOBS4TN.</li>
<li>Participate in local and state activities/staff development.</li>
<li>Supervise classes at off-site locations</li>

Job Summary
This is a part-time, grant-funded, temporary position in the Workforce and Community Solutions department. Southwest Tennessee Community College aims to employ part-time instructional supporters/tutors to provide learning support, course reinforcement, and coaching to students in one or more of the qualified subject areas. Part-time instruction supporters/tutors will provide tutoring sessions and/or perform front desk duties. Supplemental instruction is a non-traditional method of tutoring that provides group study support outside the classroom through discrete study sessions to supplement the in-class lessons. Part-time instruction supporters/tutors are responsible for attending all lectures for their assigned class(es) and providing two 1-hour study sessions per week. Peer supplemental instruction leaders/tutors will also serve as role models for other Southwest students. 
Job Duties

Under the supervision of the Department Head and/or Lead Faculty, Adjunct Instructors have as their chief duty the instruction of assigned classes, providing quality instruction for student learning and maintaining a positive learning environment in the classroom. Responsibilities for Adjunct Instructors include conducting classes using appropriate instructional practices, maintain records of attendance, evaluate student performance on assignments or lab activities, assign midterm grades, assign final grades, utilize faculty feedback, complete mandatory training as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
Beyond teaching responsibilities, Adjunct Instructors are also obligated to comply and support college policies as set forth in the Strategic Plan, the College Catalog, the Adjunct Faculty Handbook, and the Employment Agreement.

The Adult Education and Literacy department is seeking Teacher Aides to tutor high school students, per teacher assignment and suggestion.
